Thank you for visiting The Gia Spot. Please take a tour around this site and read a story or two. Or click on my Writing Life blog for a more personal perspective. I'd like you to consider this site as a kind of salon, an internet drawing room with a picture window looking out to a picturesque sky, a cozy setting for my sophisticated guests.
My friends might characterize me as something of an extrovert, yet I tend to be shy about promoting my published works. Nevertheless, I enjoy sharing some of the (good) news! Recently, my novel, The Mermaids of Willow Creek, received four 5-star reviews by members of the online bookclub, Goodreads. And my e-book, the short-story novel, Plaza Erotica, has also gotten some interesting attention, with one reviewer suggesting she found it "intriguing," even as she admits that she's generally "not a fan of high-minded literature." You can read excerpts from both books by clicking the tab for Gia's Fiction. And if you'd like to purchase either book, just click on this link: http://www.amazon.com/author/giasola
Other work has been recognized too. My lyrical fantasy Jack and Madalena: In the City by the Bay was awarded an Honorable Mention in the annual Short Story America literary competition. And several new stories were published so far this year. Plus, I've written a monologue that hopefully will be performed on the Broadway stage in 2014.
But you won't have to wait for The Dark Side of the City of Light. My edgy piece of creative non-fiction is featured in the just-released anthology, Not Your Mother's Book: On Travel.
Click on the tab for The View From Here to read an excerpt of The Dark Side of the City of Light. If you're intrigued by the story and want to purchase the book to read more travel stories by other authors, follow the link to my Amazon author page, provided above.
